Update on the Latest of What I've Learned

1. I believe the rest of the Dutch kids got out today.

2. The Americans announced today that they are getting the children matched with American families to their homes.

3. I spoke to our MP, Tim Uppal again tonight and he is working very hard on our behalf, which we are so grateful for. He was in meetings with Mr. Kenney today and Foreign Affairs and who knows who else. He couldn't tell me much more than what has been released to the media, but he assured me they are working hard on it and that Canada is not going to leave our children behind. Hooray and thank you Tim! I don't think Mr. Kenney wants to make a full statement until they are absolutely sure of EVERYTHING related to getting the children home.

We are feeling cautiously optimistic! Thank you all for your prayers, support, encouragement.

  1. There were two families from the Vancouver area on Global news here in the Lower Mainland tonight waiting just as you are. From the pictures, we are quite sure it was GLA, but there must be other orphanages going through the same thing. We sent another set of emails after your afternoon post basically using the letter that was provided with a few of our own thoughts, particularly around the fact that the US and Holland have already acted. I just sent one more based on your sense that things seem to be getting close and that hard work is being done. It seemed worth it to thank him for that, but encouraging him to continue to move swiftly. The knot in your stomach must be 100 times that of ours, but we are anxious to hear good news.
    Blessings,
    Roy and Jane
