More Good News

I mentioned a few months ago that our other adoption agency, Imagine Adoption, had gone bankrupt due to fraud and theft by its executive director. We had had about twelve thousand dollars held "in trust" by Imagine Adoption hoping to complete another adoption after Trey came home. None of that money was actually held "in trust," however, and about 500 Canadian families hoping to adopt from Ethiopia, Zambia, Ecuador, and Ghana were left in the lurch.

Anyways after months of media attention, meetings, discussions, plans, etc, etc, etc, a committee put together a proposal for restructuring the agency. At least 200 families had to respond by contributing the first installment of more money needed by November 30 in order to see if there were enough families to revive the agency.

We just received word that 246 families have re-signed their agreements and of course we are one of them! (Mind you, we didn't have much choice...either kiss away twelve thousand dollars or throw in a little more and see if we can actually complete an adoption!)

This is good news. Hopefully Trey Amos will be able to have a little brother or sister from Ethiopia someday.
