We went to the GLA Canada fundraiser this weekend and it was a really nice event. There was Haitian food, a silent auction, a live auction, and all the proceeds went towards needs at GLA. Specifically, GLA Canada is raising funds for the new orphanage that is being built. But they are also raising funds for the everyday needs at GLA such as diapers, baby formula, medicine, etc. GLA is also in need of a new generator and a new vehicle. The generator is especially important because they need the energy to sustain little lives in the NICU. They use the generator to run the incubators, the oxygen, and other medical devices.
Brady had a great time bidding at the silent auction and came away with some Haitian art. It's a win-win situation! The orphanage gets some desperately needed funds, and we get to bring some Haitian culture into our home.
It was also awesome to meet up with some "email friends" and other families who have adopted or are in the process of adopting from GLA.
Oh BTW...today marks the end of our fifth month in IBESR. Grrrrrr. Please pray our file moves this week. I'm going crazy.
Girl. I have pulled out all the stops today.
